In my own long quest to find how to get rid of my belly, I learned some tips that will help you answer the question of how to get rid of belly fat for men.

Stomach fat is one of the hardest fats to lose and if you are trying to find out how to lose lower belly fat you’ll need a bit of help get you started.

It is very possible to lose the belly fat that is hanging around the lower part of your stomach, especially if you follow these easy tips.

When it relates to eating, these are the tips that I considered most important.

Eat Your Breakfast or at least a protein shake!

  • I bet your mom mentioned this before: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” Didn’t she?  Some people skip breakfast in an effort to lose weight, but this practice is more likely to cause weight gain than weight loss. Eating breakfast helps kick-start your metabolism first thing in the morning so that you burn more calories throughout the day.
  • Skipping breakfast is strongly linked to the development of obesity. If you skip breakfast, you will tend to eat more food at the next meal or eat high-calorie snacks to avoid being hungry.
  • The first thing I do when I wake up is brush my teeth and then prepare a protein shake. You might say: “Hey that is not real food”.  To that question I would say that maybe it is cheating a little bit, but it does the trick! It helps me regulate my sugar levels.

Some of us use protein shakes as a way to have our breakfast.

They are simple and easy to make.

Concentrate while you eat

  • Avoid any other activity while you eat. Let your brain and stomach synchronize. What do I mean by this? Your mind and focus will be on those other activities, so you will not be able to watch the amount of food you are eating, and more importantly you will not notice when you begin to get full. The “I am full” sign will never reach your brain and you will just continue to eat.
  • Furthermore, as you concentrate on your food, count until 20 as you chew each bite of food. Not only will you improve your digestion, you will be more conscious of your fullness level.
  • This particular trick helped me a lot. I first noticed it when eating Korean food. I used to eat a full bowl of tofu soup, but after I implemented this trick, I could not believe what happened. I could only eat half! Counting from 1 to 20 works!
  • Counting? You are probably rolling your eyes, asking yourself, “Is this really an answer to my original question of how to get rid of belly fat for men?” To that I would say, totally! This is not the only tool you need, but it will help tremendously in your exploration of how to get rid of belly fat for men.

  • You have probably heard this before, as the news on this topic has been around for a while; however, many people still stick to large lunches and even larger dinners. This suggestion is not related to the amount of calories but to the spread of the calories throughout the day.
  • Many studies suggest that people accumulate more body fat when they eat fewer, larger meals than when they eat the same number of calories in smaller, more frequent meals.
  • Eating smaller, more frequent meals is something I have practiced for many, many years. Actually, my body is so used to it that I don’t even have to think about it anymore. Sometimes I have a protein shake as a mid-afternoon meal, I need the boost usually at around 3:00 p.m.

If you need to take a power bar or a protein shake as a mid-afternoon meal, go ahead.

This is great practice. Just make sure they are not loaded with sugar!

Drink a lot of water.

The more water you drink, the better. We need to drink water every day to keep hydrated. This regulates fat burning and the body’s metabolic processes. Yes, fat burning! Isn’t this what we are after, how to get rid of belly fat for men? I drink water through the day. Usually, some type of tea or water with few drops of lemon.

Avoid junk food, or we can say enjoy healthy food!

  • Surprised? You did not think I would mention it?
  • Believe me, you can do as many sit ups, crunches, or workout videos as you might want, or you can buy the most expensive “abs” equipment; however, if you keep drinking  sodas and eating fried foods, donuts, muffins, and potato chips, you will go nowhere with ridding yourself of body fat. Be true to yourself.
  • Do you want to enjoy your abs? Show them to the world? Or, you will just cover them forever?
  • You are here because you want to find out how to get rid of belly fat for men. You need to be honest with yourself. If you are not willing to let go of the junk food, including “diet food” and diet sodas, your dream is going to be just that, a dream. You can do it. I did.

How to get rid of belly fat for men – is gluten free an alternative?

  • For health reasons, I had to completely change my life and stop eating gluten. Gluten is the base of any wheat product, imagine that! You should know that being gluten free has saved my life, and you might like to give it a try. There are plenty of options out there for gluten free products. I am not saying you have to do it, but going gluten free is always an option.
