Insanity Workout Reviews Six Pack Abs

You probably heard about this Ultimate Workout Program, the Insanity Workout by Shaun-T and now you would like to read some Insanity Workout Reviews.

Or you just might be looking for the fastest and surest way to get a six pack, those ripped abs you always wanted. Insanity is your best bet to achieve that in 60 days.

Not many have the guts to start it, and I can not say how many of them really completed it. What I do know is that this program indeed is  the toughest program I have ever done! Now Shaun-T came out with something even harder!

Insanity Workout Reviews Overview

Per the infomercial: “This program is designed to get you on the best shape of your life“. Unless you were an athlete at one time prior to starting the Insanity Workout, that statement is completely true. You will turn into the athlete you always wanted to be. Lean, mean machine.

  • The program runs in a 60 day timetable.
  • The 60 days are separated in to two phases.
  • The workouts in Phase 1 run from 38 to around 50 minutes.
  • The workouts in Phase 2 run from 52 to around 68 minutes.
  • You have a week of “recovery” between Phase 1 and Phase 2, though, I was as sick as I was in the regular weeks!
  • This program will kick your butt! There is no other way to put it!

    Insanity Maximum Interval Training

    Insanity Maximum Interval Training

  • Insanity uses Maximum Interval Training, where you will go as far as you can go for a period of time, and then will have a short rest period. You will repeat that sequence through the workout routine.

Is Insanity Workout for you?

  • It depends, if you are already in decent shape, I say go ahead and get that athlete’s body that you want.
  • If you are overweight and have trouble keeping up with other workout routines. Please do not try it. Not right now, get in better shape first.
  • If you are an athlete, I think you might enjoy going back to school training days.
  • Use the fit test to gauge your actual fitness level, and do take the results seriously. If you are completely out of breath or can not finish the fit test, perhaps you can do another round of your favorite workout video before coming back to the Insanity Workout.

What I liked about the program

  • The programs included in the first phase are relatively short, comparing to P90X, so I was really happy about that.
  • The workouts are so intense, that you do not have time to think about the time, time goes really fast.
  • The way Shaun-T breaks the routine: Warm-Up (note that by the end of the warm up you are already drenched), then you go into stretching, then you do the actual routine (most of the times you do the same sequence of exercises 2 or 3 times just at a different intense level) and you end with  quick stretching.

What I did not like about the program

I think my biggest complaint I have with this program is that I never actually enjoyed or had fun, any fun, doing the program. I am not sure what I was expecting. I know others do have fun, I was just not one of them. There are many US Marines doing this program, and I know even the ladies enjoy it.

There were days that I actually questioned myself why was I do in this insane program. Do I really need to be at 4% fat? I was upset that I had to do it. And here is where I mention to you, that I was not taking the P90X Recovery Formula (that is really important).

I was getting extremely, extremely tired. And that might have changed my attitude. Maybe I was not eating enough, I do not know.

Remember that with programs like this, you do need to eat, so do not even try to “reduce your intake”. It will just crush you. Get all the protein and calories that you need.

Insanity Workout Reviews from other customers:

You heard my version of the events, now let’s see what other customers are saying about the Insanity Workout. I gathered information on 3 major retailers selling this product. Update: Note that QVC is no longer selling the program.

Insanity Workout Review – Reviews by customers

“This is the toughest workout program available in DVD format. I have done P90X, The Pit, and a variety of other difficult workout programs, but when I bought and tried Insanity I new I had arrived. A bit of caution, however: DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY IN SHAPE…it’s T-O-U-G-H!!!” Bob, Retailer 2

I have been working out for the last 15 years, elliptical, weights etc… but before Insanity I have never enjoyed my workouts nearly as much as I do now and the results are amazing even if you don’t follow the diet plan. Best workout EVER!!!!! Love Shaun T !!!! F0851, Retailer 3

“The workouts are quick and intense, no equipment needed. You know the workouts are difficult when people on the DVD are taking breaks in the middle of the workouts. It is seriously a good system that you can go at your own pace and modify the workouts little to work around injuries or physical limitations and still get a good workout. I highly recommend it!”

How To Get A Six Pack With Insanity

How To Get A Six Pack With Insanity

  • A heart rate monitor, you must have something to monitor your heart rate. The intense parts of the workout are really intense, sometimes you feel like you are running out of breath. For your own safety use a monitor.
  • We do not use anything else during the workout, just make sure you have plenty of water
  • Within 1 hour of finishing the program, i suggest you do take the P90X Recovery Formula.
  • You do need an open mind, a focused mind. Do not take the prize away from your mind. You wanted that 4% body fat body. Ripped abs. Six Pack Abs. Or whatever was your goal. Maybe you just wanted the “I Earn It” shirt like me. You must focus to make sure you finish the 60 days.

When I first started to watch the Insanity workout infomercials, I compared the kinds of cardio and plyometrics workout routines they depicted to another workout regimen which I have been doing for over two years (with great success) and I could tell the routines were similar. And based on their similarity, I can attest that the insanity workouts will scorch the excess fat from your body. If you have the commitment to stick with it, you need only buy it to get in shape.

    Hey Roger,
Thanks for the note, the only thing stopping us from getting in a superb shape is actually buying the product and sticking to it. Not sure what program you are referring, but anything similar to Insanity will help people get in to shape. What a program isn’t it! Take care, PT

  3. Sue says:

You are right this is insanity, the fact that you start out working to your max and you do that the whole way through it except those little rests that he gives you, is insane. I was watching the infomercial and the moves look the same as a compilation of a couple f work outs I have, however they do not work you at your max the whole time. This looks great.

  4. ENJYATOPEX says:

    Hey Sue,
Yeap! Insanity is insane for sure! I am thinking about my second round this spring. I know I said I will leave it for the kids.. but, I have this thing calling! Thanks for stopping by. PT

  5. Raymond says:

I watched the video in your blog of the infomercial and you are right this is insane, the fact that you start out working at your max in the warm up doesn’t bode well. And you do that the whole way through it? How long are those little rests? This looks really tough, I did P90X and it was rough at first but to go a max speed the whole time would be a killer.

  6. Moore says:

I am undecided, read your P90X and your Insanity reviews.. but, still not sure which one to choose, i am somewhat overweight, but I do want to get a six pack, I am going to graduate this year and I do not want to feel embarrased anymore.. any suggestion?

  7. ENJYATOPEX says:

Insanity is no joke and I consider it to be tougher than P90X. We can not deny the results and the advantages of being shorter routines. If you would like to take challenges, go for it. This will be something you will be proud you completed at the end! Good Luck, PT

  8. ENJYATOPEX says:

    @Moore
If you are somewhat overweight, I am going to assume you are not in a good shape? I will suggest P90X, why? To do Insanity you need to be in a decent shape already. If you are not, you will no be able to keep up with the routines. Not giving you the full benefits. Though you could always do you best and see what happens. Try P90X it will not disappoint you. Thanks! and good luck, PT
